crystal

here // here // here

Just a little sparkly inspiration to distract from the abundance of rain currently descending in England.
I have to admit that from the moment my eyes rested on the Prada crystal shoes I have not forgotten about them, and they subesequently have an extremely secure place on my list of dream shoes (along with cork Balenciagas and some variation of these by Louis Vuitton - preferably black). They're almost like a grown up version of the plastic shoes from my childhood dressing up box. Or Cinderella's slippers.
I need all three of these items in my life: the necklace for the days when I'm feeling more demure, the shoes for days of flouncing and prancing like a little girl; the hat for days where I want to go all out and transform my head into a chandelier. What a clever concept; you can see others through the hat, but they're too distracted by all the sparkle to bother looking at your face.

cosmic

So here I am...
Looking slightly crazy*

Just a really quick post to show off the newest addition to my family of hats, and my new favourite way to do my nails.

I found the hat in my local Primark for a measly £6! I'd been searching for a black floppy hat for ages, and there it was... waiting to be bought.

The nails were a bandwagon I had been wanting to jump on for a while, but thought would be too difficult! As it turns out, they're ridiculously easy! As my twitter followers will probably know, I tried them last week, but whilst they were successful, I think they're better the second time around!
I realise my quick webcam snapshots aren't the best quality (I was too lazy to bust out my camera), but despite mine not being anywhere near as good as the ones in the tutorial (here), I have still had people asking me where I got them done! Definitely worth the try!

That's all for now... I'm off to Manchester for a few days to visit a certain crazy lady. Bisous.

* I did try to take some snapshots of me looking 'normal' but I just looked grumpy!

notion: dark and light

Two separate editorials taken from The Fashion Issue of Notion Magazine. I love how in two seemingly opposite editorials I would easily wear every single piece. I guess my style is slightly random in that respect!

Especially loving the red lips on the right and the hats used in each spread. I think my next hat adventure is definitely going to revolve around the furry hat on the left or the batman/catwoman/-esque one on the right. But which? Decisions, decisions.

EDIT: Forgot to say all images scanned by me etc. from Notion Magazine.

recent acquisitions: floppy edition

Just messin' around wearing my ASOS Floppy Fedora

I mentioned a while ago that I bought this hat, and I can honestly say that I'm in love with it. I took it with me to Edinburgh and so many people complimented me on it, and I was even once stopped in the street to be asked about it! Unfortunately it's no longer on the website, but loads of places seem to be doing similar styles! You can't really see in the crappy webcam picture, but it's a camel colour with a black band which means it matches  90% of my wardrobe. WOOP.

Another recent acquisition is this lip colour, which is the Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain + Balm. It. Is. Amazing. I really like colour on lips but since I talk, drink, eat etc. I find it hard to wear lipstick/balm because I have to reapply every two seconds. So far, this Revlon Stuff has not budged. I put it on one night to test it at home, tried to take it off, and still woke up the next morning with the remains on! Amazing. The one I'm wearing is 'Flame', but I also have it in 'Frenzy'. For those in the UK it's also on offer at boots right now!

Ok, that's it for now. Tonight I'm going to test the lipstain further by eating lots of Thai food with my friends.
Apologies for the state of my room in the background (if you look really closely you can see the ASOS box my hat arrived in... ha).
